Nursing Home Abuse

Over a million people in the United States wake up every day in a nursing home.  Many of these individuals are helpless, vulnerable and completely dependent upon nursing home staff to meet their daily needs.  Unfortunately, the quality of care in the nursing home industry has increasingly declined over the past decade.

We have investigated instances of nursing home abuse and neglect throughout the country. We have made a personal commitment to battling this epidemic, and will continue to pursue these cases despite litigation of them becoming increasingly more difficult due to changes in the law.

Signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect can include bedsores, dehydration, broken bones, unexplained bruising, falls, or malnutrition.

About J.P. Sawyer

During his 9 year tenure as a partner at the Beasley Allen Law Firm, J.P. first developed a passion for practicing wrongful death and personal injury law.

However, closest to his heart has always been representing those that have been abused or neglected by the very nursing homes that were entrusted to care for them.

J.P.’s commitment to fighting for some of society’s most vulnerable members remains unwavering despite laws governing nursing home litigation becoming increasingly complex and difficult to navigate. In 2009 he was co-lead counsel in a landmark case for “resident’s rights” that resulted in a 4.75 million dollar settlement against a major nursing home chain.
