About J.P. Sawyer

J.P. is one of the kindest, most genuine people we’ve ever met. We feel it’s his quiet sense of compassion and dedication that really resonates with his clients. He truly takes their personal struggles to heart, and often builds lasting relationships with those he’s represented.

It was during his 9 year tenure as a partner at the Beasley Allen Law Firm that J.P. first developed a passion for practicing wrongful death and personal injury law. However, closest to his heart has always been representing those that have been abused or neglected by the very nursing homes that were entrusted to care for them.

J.P.’s commitment to fighting for some of society’s most vulnerable members remains unwavering despite laws governing nursing home litigation becoming increasingly complex and difficult to navigate. In 2009 he was co-lead counsel in a landmark case for “resident’s rights” that resulted in a 4.75 million dollar settlement against a major nursing home chain.

Outside of work, J.P. continues his passion for helping others through his mission trips and is actively involved with Forgotten Children’s Ministry in Honduras.

At home, J.P. enjoys spending time with his lovely wife Keely, coaching daughter Ella in tennis, or taking in a day of fishing with his twin sons; Brack and Lint.

More About J.P.

I am passionate about foreign mission work. I have traveled to Cuba, Ecuador and Honduras on short-term mission trips. I am also actively involved with Forgotten Children’s Ministry in Honduras, and the firm sponsors several children each year in honor of our clients.

My most memorable case involved a 10-year-old boy that was critically injured in a car accident. The young boy was ejected through the side window glass as the vehicle rolled over due to a defective seat belt buckle that unlatched. The manufacturer of the seat belt alleged that the boy had never been buckled and blamed his mother.

However, that was untrue and we were able to prove through testing that the buckle design was faulty and that it released when the vehicle rolled over. As a result, we were able to secure a favorable settlement for our clients that helped the family cover his current and future medical expenses.

My proudest accomplishment was striking out on my own to start this law firm. I knew it was a risk and an enormous challenge, however the reward has been tremendous. Here, I have the freedom to pursue the types of cases I’m most passionate about, and help those in need.
